Britney Spears on twitter throne, but Ashton stays king

Already in may 2010 Ashton Kutcher aka aplusk had to hand over his twitter crown when Britney Spears managed to collect more followers on the social media service. The pop queen continues to reign the Twitter kingdom with 5,621,101 followers- against Kutchers 5,519,600
The quantity in this story cannot be argued but maybe the quality can? Britney who is sharing her account with her manager seems to be missing the point of social media. Her tweets are light and it is hard to know if it really is the person Britney behind the tweets. If you follow Britney you will get tweets with the managers updates, sweet greetings (from Britney? who knows the way she runs her profile) and little puzzle pieces of Britney pictures you can collect.

Ashton being a Twitter legend and the first profile to reach 1 mio followers in 2009 is very personal in his tweets. Also aplusk has been turning his twitter popularity into a business now advicing on social media and participating in panels and conferences on the subject. The Time Magazine even added him to the list of the 100 most influential people. If you follow Ashton you will get tweets on everything from jokes, social media news, sports comments, personal comments to his wife MrsKutcher (Demi Moore) and general replies to twitter followers.
